Introduction

Two Fun Days For all the Family

A big welcome to everyone, and to Ealing’s contribution to the national Millennium Festival. Over the weekend we will be celebrating the heritage of the Borough and in particular it’s delightful rivers and canals.

The weekend is the culmination of a project that has been two years in the making. Today sees the launch of a brand new performance space and a fabulous new walk along the waterside, taking in a series of mosaics especially commissioned to celebrate Ealing’s culturally diverse heritage.

Children from seven borough schools have helped design and create the mosaics and more children will be involved on Sunday, when they perform the dance piece they have written for the event.

The banks of the Grand Union Canal will be lined with traditional narrow boats and the park will be alive with tents, stalls, clown acts, shire horses, fun fair rides and more. There’s something for everyone to enjoy, whether it’s the live bands, the beer tent, the brand new outdoor performance space guided walks, or the bouncy castle.
