Ealing Jazz Festival - Monday the 7th August

6.l5pm Alan Berry (piano) - in the Bar Tent

730pm Adrian Macintosh Quintet

Ben Castle (tenor Sax) Pete Strange (trombone) Ted Beament (piano) Paul Bridge (bass) Adrian Macintosh (drums)

Ace drummer Adrian Macintosh’s swinging mainstream-modern quintet, another very popular Festival regular, this year includes notable young tenor saxist Ben Castle. Arrangements from Pete Strange and Ted Beament will be featured in a programme remarkable for its wide-ranging stylistic sources.

8.45pm Alan Berry (piano) in the Bar Tent

9.l5pm Bill le Sage’s Bebop 2000

Bill le Sage (piano) Steve Waterman (trumpet/f lugelhorn) Gitad Atzmon (saxes/clari net) Laurence Cottle (bass guitar) Bill Eyden (drums)

Bill le Sage has downsized from last year's amazing Genetically Modified Quintet set which generated a noteworthy CD Suite 2000 that is currently available. This year’s normal-sized quintet promises to be equally exciting with what Bill describes as an updated look at some bebop classics. A new-took Bebop Preservation Society?
