Hanwell Carnival RoyalsThe Carnival Queen and Princess Have now been SelectedThe Carnival Queen and Princess Selection Disco was held on Saturday 23rd March 2002
Hanwell Carnival Queen Vanessa Page and Princess Jade Proverbs The Hanwell Carnival & Show Committee hosted a popular family disco on Saturday 23rd March at St Thomas’ Church Hall in Hanwell, and is delighted to announce that from an impressive list of applicants, this year’s Carnival Queen will be Miss Vanessa Page who is fourteen years old and lives in Hanwell. She attends Drayton Manor High School and likes to spend her free time acting, dancing and singing. The Carnival Queen will be attended by Miss Jade Proverbs who is sixteen years old and goes to Compton High School. Her hobbies are writing poetry, songs and prose. Gill Bartlett, the Carnival Queen Manageress, would like to thank the outgoing Carnival Queen, Jacqueline Rogers, and the Princess Georgia Delaney, for their hard work throughout the year. Chairman of the Carnival Committee, Chris Brazier, says that this year’s Carnival on Saturday 15th June, will have all the traditional attractions, and hopes to build on the successes of recent years. Once again, Elthorne Park will see Main Arena Events, a Craft Fair, a Fun Fair, Beer and Tea Tents, Sideshows and Attractions, and local charity stalls which are hoping to raise money for their funds. General Background InformationAs you may know, Hanwell Carnival celebrated its 40th Anniversary a couple of years ago, and we have been fortunate to have had much success in recent years attracting crowds of up to 15, 000 to Elthorne Park. Once again the Committee is working hard to organise this year’s Carnival, which we are sure will continue In the successful tradition of a good family day out. An essential element of the Carnival is the procession, headed by the Carnival Queen and Princess, and so we are arranging a Selection Disco on Saturday 23rd March to bid farewell to our outgoing Carnival Court and welcome a new one. I am writing to you now, from the Hanwell Carnival Committee, with the request that you will help us with our publicity for the Carnival Queen and Princess Selection Disco. By printing out and displaying the poster (Disco Poster) on your premises, prominently where the highest number of potential entrants will see it. Not only Is the evening fun In itself, but It is good publicity for Carnival Day, which takes places this year on Saturday 15th June, as usual in Elthorne Park. We would be very grateful if we could send you publicity material from time to time for you to display - It will not be a great deal, but It is invaluable to us to forge these links with members of the local community like yourselves. If you would like to discuss any aspect of this page, or the Carnival Itself, or perhaps get involved yourself, please feel free to contact any of the Committee Officers at the foot of this page, or myself (Gina Page) on the number given. Meanwhile, thank you enormously for the help you can give in enabling us to reach as wide a range of people as possible with our publicity.
