Line Up

The Jon T-Bone Taylor Band - Bar Stage 2.45-3.30pm 'Jazz flavoured blues grooves'. Trained at the Guildhall School of Music, Jon Taylor has an impressive pedigree having played with not only top British but also top American Jazz & Blues musicians. As well as appearing in his own right, Jon will be backing Deitra Farr.

New Blood - Main Stage 3.30-4.30pm 'Youngest band on the circuit. The new-wave of electric blues.' New Blood are Britain's youngest blues band. With a level of enthusiasm and ability that shames a lot of musicians three times their age - New Blood are a real breath of fresh air. They are (ages at time of writing): Gary J. Harper (17) Guitar / vocals, Saffron Box (16) bass, Jon Ballard (15) drums, & Rachel Healey (17) keyboards.

The Motel Kings - Main Stage 5-6.30pm 'Hard Rockin Texas style Rhythm 'n' Blues via the Thames Estuary' Stalwarts of the British Blues circuit, there's hardly a blues club or festival where they haven't 'blown the house down'. The British Blues Connection's Blueprint magazine described, 'their curious sonic concoction, Thames Estuary cum Texas Blues at a Cajun dance'.

Connie Lush's Blues Shouter - Main Stage 7-8.30pm 'Powerhouse Soul influenced Blues-Rock.' Voted 'Best Female Blues Vocalist' by the British Blues Connection in 1996, 1999 and 2000. Liverpudlian Connie Lush's voice has been described as 'a battle-scarred sandpaper edged cross between Tina Turner and Aretha Franklin'! With the powerhouse trio of John Lewis (guitar), Terry Harris (bass) and Carl Woodward (drums), they attack bare-knuckled Rhythm 'n' Blues and slow burn torch songs with tremendous power and passion.

The Guv'nors featuring Robert Hokum - Main Stage 9-10.30pm 'Allegedly the funkiest blues band in the land'. Since 1989 the Guv'nors have been the backbone of the Ealing Blues Party with their 'rhythmically infectious, funk influenced take on the blues' proving the perfect end to this event. They are led by Ealing resident Robert Hokum who describes himself as having learnt the blues from a lifetime on the Brent Delta.

PLUS - Special guest from Chicago

Deitra Farr - Bar Stage 4.30-5pm, 6.30-7pm and 8.30-9pm. 'True Blues Sister from the Windy City, home of Urban Blues.' The Ealing Blues 'n' Groove Party is proud to be able to include a genuine Chicago born blues singer in the line-up. Deitra paid her musical 'dues' in the clubs on north-side Chicago and can name Sunnyland Slim, Louis Myers and Homesick James among her sidemen. With her soul influenced approach to the blues, singer/ songwriter Deitra has been building quite a reputation on the European Blues circuit.
