This year has been exceptionally busy largely because of
Andy’s premature death. We would like to thank everyone who rallied round in
the last three months.

We would like to mention some people and organisations who
have been especially helpful: the Acton Councillors and officers of the
council’s Environment, Corporate Services and Housing Departments; Acton
Action for oming to our aid and lending us Naz and Michael; Churches Together;
the Police, Fire Service and St. John’s Ambulance Brigade; Twyford High
School for running our annual poster competition; London Transport Museum,
John Lewis Daniel’s and Syon House, Butterfly House for the raffle prizes;
APPLE; Ealing Family Housing Association; Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre for
the lucky dip prizes; Acton Vale Community Centre and its affiliated
organisations; Stardust Steel Band; Ealing Mandarin School; Keith Waithe, The
Governors and Dick Esmond for the music; Logical Software Ltd., Ian Mark for
the programme; Ealing Broadway Natwest Bank for being understanding; Safeway
Acton for displaying the poster competition entrants; The Cane Toad; Acton
History Group; Brentford FC; finally all the volunteers and other helpers who
have stepped into the breech, some at the last minute, to make the
Extravaganza happen.
We must remind everyone we need volunteers all year
round to plan this event. Some of us are in need of a rest and recharge so if
you want this in 2001, please join the committee
